Since I haven't seen all the movies of all time, and don't even remember that many of the ones I have seen, it's hard to put that kind of curse on any one film. But I will mention one that was a memorable, colossal, kind of heartbreaking flop for my family: 2001: A Space Odyssey. My dad was super-excited about it, he was maybe a fan of Arthur C. Clarke, and we traveled from our suburban outpost into Los Angeles to see it—at the Cinerama Dome, I think, maybe a special showing or preview? I just remember it as being unusual for my dad to make such a big deal over a movie and be so psyched for it. I was about 9 then and probably wouldn't have understood it if it had been understandable, but he just hated it and was befuddled by it and was so, so let down, and I've never forgiven it for that. So 2001: A Space Odyssey, I'm gonna say you're the worst.
Scream. Such a terrible waste of time and an absolutely negative contribution to culture. I forgive Skeet Ulrich only because he played such a bada** hero in Jericho.

Music to my ears. I've long held 2001 is the most overrated, exhaustingly boring film of all time.
Bookmark "most exhaustingly boring film of all time" for a future question of the week.
Looks like you'll get your wish there.
You may get to next week. 😁
Well, I've never seen it, but you're getting my vote because of the most interesting back-story. 🙂
Curious what your suburban outpost was. I'm from Long Beach.
Thousand Oaks for me too! Vince, we need to have a conversation about this!
Yeah, I'm curious too. I'm from Thousand Oaks.
Can I nominate everything Neil Breen has made? If I had to pick one, I’ll go with Fateful Findings just because of this spectacular ending. https://youtu.be/dKohD_RLnFw?si=z5HYnb0vJJbVmTSX
I guess you'll have to make the case. I'm not familiar with the name. 😁
Gonna roll with Caveman (1981) staring Ringo Star and Shelly Long. Need I elaborate?
Can't guess how many times I saw it on HBO as a kid. What were my parents thinking?

Never seen it, never intend to, I am a colossal wimp. But I will definitely take your word for it.
