This week Maggie asks: Name a movie that inspired or convicted you to do more of something— ie: physical training, painting, writing, gardening, cooking, etc.
The Karate Kid. I was standing up on the arms of the dining room chairs doing kata moves (much to my mom's chagrin) by the first afternoon. Begged to take karate lessons, got my yellow belt and thought I was all that. In my zeal I challenged my Mexican cousin (who'd taken boxing) to do some sparring, wherein he proceeded to pound the crap out of me. After that, karate didn't seem like such a good time investment.
I was stumped this week by Maggie's question, but last nite, it came to me, so here I am casting my last-minute vote... (hope I'm not too late).
The Terminator.
I had never seen it but finally watched it last nite. What's that old saying?... life imitates art? Yeah, that. Intense movie! In the final scene, the gas station attendant says to Sarah "there's a storm coming" and she replies "I know" before driving off into the desert. That scene has been lingering in my airspace, and I think a switch in me has flipped. I am suddenly feeling very convicted to step up my game and pump up my muscles (literally and metaphorically) in the event that I ever find myself running from cyborgs.

Throwing this one in just for the fun of shocking my husband 😎…Lone Survivor, which inspired me to pray more for our military.
Yup. Shocked.
I’m full of surprises, Mr. Guerra. 😏
I’m shocked too! I was so sure you would pick some kind of gardeny/homesteaderly type of movie. 🤔
Miss Potter had me all about watercolor landscapes.
