We took a couple of weeks off due to natural disasters and a Monday anniversary for yours truly. If you’re ready to nerd out over movies again, here goes: What is your favorite “dramatic entrance” or introductory scene for a film character?
Ooh, tough one! The James Bond and Mission: Impossible franchises are known for memorable introductions. Snatch is fabulous and Guardians of The Galaxy 2 cracks me up! But, I think I'm gonna go with something iconic: Saturday Night Fever. It was his first major breakout on the big screen (so literally an introduction to new audiences). During opening credits we are introduced to Tony Manero, the man with incredible swagger, by way of Bee Gees, Stayin' Alive. It's a classic!
Bruce the Shark in Finding Nemo —second only to the startling steampunk lanternfish in the deeps — when he’s suddenly there, all teeth and grinning, because he’s a nice shahk and not a ferocious man-eating creechah.
Anne of Green Gables comes to mind. I mean it contains a book burning, a scathing character assasination, and the death of a poor man that had to wait for lunch!
Kept meaning to post this all week but kept getting distracted: Captain America's entrance in Infinity War, when the train passes. The music, the beard - a perfect dramatic entrance.
So many great intros, but there is one that has always stuck in my mind from high school. It's the intro where Jim Carrey is dressed like a package delivery man at the beginning of Ace Ventura. It was hilarious, and set the pace for the rest of the movie.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective opening scene is my final answer.

Nice one. Now I need to go listen to How Deep Is Your Love.
Beautiful harmonies. There's no one like them.
Good answer!
Well...let's hope you're stayin' alive for the finish! I love John Travolta in that scene! Now I have to watch Snatch again...
There so many options here. But I’m going with the T-Rex entrance in Jurassic Park.
🤣🤣

"A book burning"...lol
And the winner is Kris with Saturday Night Fever. Congratulations, Kris, you get to choose Monday's question.
