As much as I adore Frank Capra, Lost Horizon was an absolute snoozer. Even the great Thomas Mitchell couldn't save it.

I noticed the book at a local library and intend to read it in coming months. I got Goodbye Mr. Chips at a Goodwill and really enjoyed that. Both by James Hilton.

When my mom and I saw "Turtle Diary," so impressed were we by the way its pace matched that of the titular reptile that we thereafter called all boring movies "turtle movies" and rated them on a scale of one to five turtles. Legendarily boring, final answer.

I was bored and disappointed by On the Beach. 4 stars in Leonard Maltin's book. Apparently nuclear war is slow, dull and talky.
