In our previous fight we explored the hidden gospel messaging layered within secular films. Who would have guessed ET filled the bill? Eustace Scrubb, that's who. It gave Eustace his second win. Eustace asks: What is a Christmas film other people love, but you hate or think is just 'meh'? And why?
A Christmas Story. Blargh. Everything bad about the 80s in one movie — trashy humor, careless parents, meanness from all ages…but hey, at least it’s pro gun. Sort of.
Since my #1 most hated Christmas movie has been taken by Shannon, my second most hated will have to do 😉😄National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. 👎🏻
I will admit there are some occasional laugh out loud moments, but I’m not a big fan of crude humor on the other 364 days of the year, so I’m even more “bah humbug” about it on a day when we are celebrating something so sacred and meaningful as the birth of our Lord, which is synonymous with other sacred things such as hope, love, grace, faith and good will towards men. I love well written witty comedy, but stupid crude humor lost its luster for me sometime after puberty.
This film is doing well at the box office, and I've talked to people who really liked it, but
"Violent Night" is as bad as one might expect. Worse for me than the violence and crude language is that old hack chestnut, "You just have to believe." No. It matters greatly what you believe in.
And the winner is...a tie, again. Pursuant to MFC rules the member who posted the question gets to break the tie, and Eustace selects...Polar Express.
Congratulations Mama Mia. You get to choose tomorrow's question.
White Christmas. I love the album, but the movie was fully forgettable. I don't hate it, but it's definitely in the Meh category.

Ugh! You Guerras keep beating me to the punch 😁
I LOATHE “A Christmas Story” and David loves it. He knows to watch it while I’m out Christmas shopping. 😂
I've never heard of someone hating that movie. I just saw it on a big screen 2 weeks ago, fun stuff.
That’s why it’s the right and possibly best answer. 😁 Most people DO like that movie.
Elf.
Final answer.
Come at me I dare you 😎
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'm too tired to explain why. Final answer. Forever

Lust, Actually.
Oops... and that’s my final answer 😄
I’m adding this to my comment 😂 hopefully link will work...
