I want to list about five movies…but I’m going to say The Stoning Of Soraya M. It is brutal (we actually skipped at least half of the stoning scene because I didn’t want to see it all) but so important for people to understand what women still live under. It’s not just about the stoning, but it also exposes all the treatment and abuse and community iniquity that lead to it. The story unveils brilliantly and the acting is powerful, such a great movie — but one that you’ll probably only want (or need) to see once.
