This week Mama Mia asks: What is the best non-animated film with an animal protagonist? The Rules: Post your answer as a comment. Whoever gets the most likes by Saturday wins the fight and gets to ask next week's question.
The sea creature NTI's (non-terrestrial intelligent) from The Abyss. They're not fully developed characters in the theatrical cut, but the director's cut explains how pivotal they were in the affairs of men.
I’m going with Warhorse. I think war movies don’t get as much fanfare in general because they’re so hard to watch, but I always felt like this particular movie was undervalued and forgotten about rather quickly even though it received five Oscar nominations.
I loved the cinematography and the soul of the story… and truly what a beautiful animal. 🤍
I've been struggling with this one (even though I asked the question this week... 🤷♀️ ).
I am throwing Beethoven into the ring. I remember this movie from the early 90's. Critics didn't love it but it seems audiences did! What's more lovable than a giant, messy, slobbering St. Bernard who somehow manages to work his way into the heart of the dog-averse, uptight patriarch of the family?

Ahhh…Milo and Otis. 😁
I've heard of but have never seen Milo and Otis, so I looked it up. Says the whole movie is human-less !?!
It is! But narrated throughout by Dudley Moore. It’s so cute and funny.

Ooh, this one looks good but looks like it's gonna be an emotional ride!
It is, but worth it. Just plan accordingly and keep the tissues handy 😁
