What movie best depicts rural life? Whoever gets the most likes on their answer by Saturday wins the fight. The winner gets the honor of posting next Monday's question.
Witness, because I'll always have mad respect for the old timers who could peg together a barn that's sturdier and more aesthetically pleasing than anything being made today.
This question is a tough one! I'm thinking of a movie called A Home of Our Own.
I've only seen it once but when I think of it, I always remember one scene/line where the mom (Kathy Bates) wants to skip gift-giving and give the house a Christmas gift instead (a hammer, if I recall correctly). According to movie critic Roger Ebert, "This is not a great movie, but it has a big heart." Fair enough. It's no blockbuster, but it is heartwarming and imparts a great message. Also, Kathy Bates is strong, as always.
And the winner is, Mama Mia. Congratulations, MM, you get to choose Monday's question.
