The Abyss. The scene where Bud and Catfish have to swim from one opening in the submerged oil rig across a hundred feet of hypothermic level water over to another opening, then quietly ascend without the bad guy hearing them, then approach him to attack him. It was an edge-of your-seat scene with a super-satisfying conclusion I didn't see coming.
The Poseidon Adventure (1972) - In order for our small group of survivors to make it to the bottom of the ship, which is now the top of the ship, someone must pull a rope through a flooded passageway. Elderly Shelly Winters is not in her trim, fighting weight of youth, but insists that she can make the swim. A wonderful demonstration of courage.
The Guardian! The entire film is a riveting rendition of what it takes to be a U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer. Plus, it’s set in Alaska💙💛 It’s hard to choose one scene…but I’ll say (SPOILER) the final rescue scene when seasoned Ben Randall gives his life to save the grown-wiser, young buck Jake Fischer. My heart feels hollow just thinking about it.

And the winner is, Mama Mia with Finding Nemo. Congratulations, MM, you get to choose Monday's question.

It’s gotta be the first shark attack in Jaws. Perfect execution.
The final scene is equally perfect.

Dang it. Stole my answer. Of course I had a different scene in mind so.....
The Princess Bride, as she treads water: “Those are the shrieking eels…” We purposefully misquote this scene every time a child screams in our house.
Never saw that but Thirteen Lives (2022) with Viggo Mortensen tells the same story and it's fantastic, and perfect for this question.

Well, neither movie had a super creative, memorable title. I would’ve made the same mistake. 😂
Ohh!! We saw this, but I thought it had a different title. With Viggo Mortenson?
Ohhh, good one!! "DUUUUUUUUUDE. Mr. Turtle is like, my father."
