We had a barn burner last week discussing fish out of water stories. Mr. Frederickson and Up took the prize giving Shannon her latest win and with it the right to ask:
What is the best movie for fast, witty dialogue?
Fight it out.
The Rules:
Post your answer as a comment. Make it clear that this is your official answer, one per member.
No profanity. No pornography.
Defend your answer in the comments and fight it out against other MFC members’ answers for the rest of the week.
Whoever gets the most likes on their official answer comment (and only that comment) by Friday night wins the fight. You may like (heart, whatever) as many answers as you want.
The winner gets the honor of posting the next question the following Saturday.
In the case of a tie, the member who posted the question will decide the winner.
Notes:
Only movies will qualify (no TV shows, or documentaries); however, films that air on television or streaming (BBC films, a stand-alone mini-series) will qualify.
Your answer can be as off-the-wall or controversial as you’d like. It will be up to you to defend it and win people to your side.Â
Fight it out.
Would you like to join the fight?
Know someone who’d like to join as well? Let them know about us. The more fighters the better. Discounted rates are available for groups of four or more…perhaps sign up your family and friends as a gift.
Sherlock Holmes, 2009. A sampler...
Sherlock Holmes: You've never complained about my methods before.
Dr. John Watson: I'm not complaining.
Sherlock Holmes: You're not? What do you call this?
Dr. John Watson: I never complain! How am I complaining? When do I ever complain about you practicing the violin at three in the morning, or your mess, your general lack of hygiene, or the fact that you steal my clothes?
Sherlock Holmes: Uh, we have a barter system...
Dr. John Watson: When have I ever complained about you setting fire to my rooms?
Sherlock Holmes: Our rooms...
Dr. John Watson: The rooms! Or, or, the fact that you experiment on my dog?
Sherlock Holmes: Our dog...
Dr. John Watson: The dog!
Sherlock Holmes: Gladstone is our dog!
The Princess Bride, mostly for everything between Inigo and The Man in Black on the Cliffs of Insanity.
"I could give you my word as a Spaniard!"
"No good. I've known too many Spaniards."
