The World’s Fastest Indian, starring Anthony Hopkins. It inspired me to build a motorcycle, modify it a few times and ride it. Just remembering the movie makes me want to do it again!
Since a standalone miniseries qualifies, it’s definitely The Queen’s Gambit for me. The combination of it being fantastic all around and the lack of anything to do during 2020, I’m sure many other people picked up chess because of Queen’s Gambit. I don’t have the talent or genius of Beth, but it was kind of fun while it lasted.
Did you learn to play against a computer or with people? I went through a computer chess phase for a while, even watching YouTube tutorials about opening moves and such. I probably lost a hundred times before I finally beat the PC, and that was only on level 7.
I’m torn between two answers. I want to say Mostly Martha for how it introduced me to cooking and foodie movies, but Vin reminded me that the honest answer is actually probably the anti-foodie movie 😂 — Silence of the Lambs — because it inspired me to study psychology more. Nothing to do with fava beans though, no thanks, I don’t want any Chianti either. 😏
I'm going with Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. It inspired me to make my hair blonde'ish, dig deeper into history and find some adventures! Maybe this doesn't qualify as a hobby, but I enjoyed myself immensely during this stint :D
Ummm well this is kind of a stretch because the “hobby” isn’t a significant part of the plot and well... the movie has been the butt of many jokes (for good reason) for the past two+ decades... so it’s with an embarrassed giggle snort that I say- Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. 😁
I was fascinated by her hand-building clay bowls or vases on a pottery wheel, but after looking into the cost of the equipment I ended up experimenting with air dry clay, which led me to polymer clays, which ended up being an art form that I dabbled in for about 8 years, then went onto selling hand made clay pendants to some talented jewelry designers. I still miss it. So much fun. Final answer.
Like just about every boy from my generation, The Karate Kid had me begging my mom for karate lessons.

I learned playing against people. I did eventually play against a computer, but it eventually took too much of my time. As these things do.
Miss Potter had me all about watercolor painting.

It took a while to get there but we finally got a winner. Congratulations, Dave Schmidt. You get to choose Monday's question.

Are we required to have actually done the hobby or are we talking pure wish I could that?! :D
Ehhhh...well, you had to try it, at least. :)
Hmm...
Point Break.
No, just kidding. Afraid of heights.
I figured you meant the surfing.
