Okay, after re-watching Coffey's execution scene from The Green Mile I have to agree that it's a spectacular feat of acting from everyone. The actors speak volumes with subtle looks and you feel the weight of everyone's emotions. Great scene. If you haven't seen the movie in a while, watch it again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmxArNBJHFQ
And that gives MFC member Maggie Montgomery her first win. Congratulations, Maggie, you get to choose tomorrow's question.

Lots of movies ran through my head at random... the "never take our freedom" scene in Brave Heart... any scene in Band of Brothers (which, I think by Vince's rules, would count as a movie..)... and the "Prometheus baby alien birth/extraction" scene in Prometheus... so many to choose from.
Despite having "so many to choose from", I literally can't think of one that tops the "velociraptors in the kitchen" scene of Jurassic Park. Final answer.
The young girl depicts her fear so realistically. I mean, honestly.. you know she didn't film with a real velociraptor! She's acting with puppets, green screen etc.... I think she did great. The little boy too. Idk why this is the one that I chose out of all of them lol
Also, shamefully, I've realized all the other movies listed in the chat... I haven't seen. Time to have a movie night lol.

The one that’s coming to mind (since Vin swiped the one I would’ve said) is the apartment fight scene between Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson in A Marriage Story. It’s a terrible movie (should’ve been called A Divorce Story so you wouldn’t get your hopes up about them reconciling only to be disappointed) and I don’t like the actress and I wouldn’t recommend the movie at all…but it was an amazing scene. Can you tell I’m begrudging, just a little? 😂 Final answer.
Very difficult choice, but I’m going with the execution scene in the Green Mile. Tom Hanks, Michael Duncan Clarke, David Morse, Barry Pepper all bring their A-game making it an incredible and unforgettable scene.
Day-Lewis played Christy Brown, a man with severe cerebral palsy. Mostly without speech and with quite limited movement, Day-Lewis always conveys the thoughts and feelings of this man.
There's the bell and we end this week with a three way tie. According to MFC rules the person who chose the question gets to decide the winner. I think I'm going to have to go back and watch a few scenes on this one. Standby.
I'll go with the first thing that came to my mind, which is Leonardo DiCaprio in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." Especially considering his age and that the thing he was most known for before this was probably later seasons of "Growing Pains," that performance is a feat. He manages to make Arnie a full person, lovable and infuriating, with his own thoughts and feelings, both beloved and burdensome for his poor brother (a great performance by Johnny Depp, I think, but as understated as DiCaprio's is complex). You can see a bunch of Arnie scenes strung together out of context at https://youtu.be/CKvWa8BZQbI.
Mr Smith Goes To Washington, James Stewart's final scene "I guess this is just another lost cause, Mr. Payne."
Spoiler clip if you haven't seen it. Also, if you haven't seen, go see it first. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL-Jg7CyqLQ
Drat. That would’ve been my answer, too. Recomputing…

There are so many choices. I'm going with one of little Murphy's scenes in Interstellar, the scene where Cooper leaves his family:

She's right you know.
There are a few of these I haven't seen either, like Sophie's Choice and My Left Foot, the latter of which has been on my list forever.

So much wrong with that movie but two truly great performances.

My Left Foot - Daniel Day-Lewis

Ding! Ding! Ding!

In my opinion, the best piece of acting I’ve seen is Tom Hanks in Mr Rogers. Ten minutes in you think you’re watching the real Mr Rogers.
What scene sealed the deal?
