Our last fight was tied late into Saturday night until Shannon was finally put over the top. This week Shannon asks: What is the most cringy scene in an otherwise great film?
There are a lot in the LOTR trilogy, usually involving Legolas, but the one that bugs me most is in Return of the King when Frodo wakes up after destroying the ring. The dreamy white lighting, the slow motion speech, Galdalf's creepy close-up, Pippin jumping on the bed, Aragorn's outfit...all of it is jarringly out of pace with the rest of the film.
The kiss at the very end of Persuasion (2007). Blecchhhh! So gross! Ewww! Go away, go away, I can't even watch that movie again. Really, the whole thing is great until the last couple minutes, and then, puke.

And the winner is Mama Mia with the cringy cring of Forrest Gump. Congratulations Mama Mia, you get to choose this week's question.
Ahhh! I missed this, sorry! Just submitted my question.
The Jenny and Forrest sex scene in Forrest Gump is beyond cringey and makes me all kinds of uncomfortable.
The first one you mean? Yeah totally. 🤮
I almost used Forest Gump as the post thumbnail but got too creeped out looking for an image. 😂

Okay, I have to watch that again. 😂😂
Saw this comment/post on my substack feed and I had to come over just to say— Yes! SO much YES! I thought it was just me.
🤢😂👊🏻
Well Mr Collin's proposal is pretty cringey in Pride and Prejudice. But he is cringey in general! 😂😂
Can we play twice?
The book banning argument scene in Field of Dreams was the first thing that came to mind, especially after having watched it several months ago.
Julia Roberts discussing Mel Gibson's butt while eating ice cream in Nottong Hill. 😂😂
