Last week we Quantum Leapt into movies we’d like to interact in. Shannon jumped into fair Verona and saved Romeo from tragic death. You all approved and as a result, she gets to choose this week’s question. Shannon asks:
Which movie has the most intriguing house setting?
The Rules:
Post your answer as a comment. Make it clear that this is your official answer, one per member.
No profanity. No pornography.
Defend your answer in the comments and fight it out against other MFC members’ answers for the rest of the week.
Whoever gets the most likes on their official answer comment (and only that comment) by Friday night wins the fight. You may like (heart, whatever) as many answers as you want.
The winner gets the honor of posting the next question the following Saturday.
In the case of a tie, the member who posted the question will decide the winner.
Notes:
Only movies will qualify (no TV shows, or documentaries); however, films that air on television or streaming (BBC films, a stand-alone mini-series) will qualify.
Your answer can be as off-the-wall or controversial as you’d like. It will be up to you to defend it and win people to your side.
Fight it out.
Would you like to join the fight?
Know someone who’d like to join as well? Let them know about us. The more fighters the better. Discounted rates are available for groups of four or more…perhaps sign up your family and friends as a gift.
Seems like at a minimum the winning answer should have some secret passageways.
In the movie Oblivion, Tom Cruise’s character has a secret little lake side cabin in the woods that barely appears in the movie except for a handful of short scenes. I’ve watched that movie two more times for no other reason except to see that “home” again.
The little abode is more tent than cabin. It does have a roof, but it’s almost entirely open to the elements with a quick unobstructed walk from the bed to water’s edge. The stone fireplace dominates the space and adds to the illusion that it’s a cabin with walls.
Everything from the simple cotton curtains to the bedding and rugs are all well-worn and broken in like a favorite old hat or sweater. There’s absolutely nothing fancy here. It’s a ramshackle little place with some rough hand built furniture. The curtains hang from stripped tree branches. There’s stacks of books on counters and filling shelves all helter skelter-like and every surface is littered with little odds and ends and bits of nostalgia. A large vinyl record collection and a vintage player occupy a space only marginally larger than the book shelves—a forgivable flaw. 😏
In all honesty, if not for the books, personal items and the breathtaking surroundings, it would be too primitive to be described as inspiring or cozy and even with those items, it’s still not exactly everyone’s cup of tea, but I would be completely intrigued as I combed through books and records and inspected curious personal items and then to go off to explore wide open spaces searching for wildflowers and little woodland creatures... if that’s not intriguing, I’m not sure what is. 😊
